The Bell Inn is an 18th Century, grade II listed coaching inn, located on the north edge of Salisbury Plain, 4 miles from Devizes and 10 miles from Warminster. The property was first registered as a pub back in 1740 when conducting business as a drovers' inn and appears in the Doomsday Book.
Situated in a prime rural location, on the main street in Great Cheverell, Devizes, The Bell Inn is ideally located close to the major tourist attractions of Stone Henge, Bath, Salisbury and Avebury.
The Bell is family orientated and known in the area for being child friendly. The homely atmosphere is inviting and The Bell's hospitality is renowned throughout the West Country - it's widely reputed as serving the 'Best Steak in Wiltshire', an award made by The Wiltshire Times.
Inside is an accommodating 'L' shaped bar featuring a fine selection of the leading wine, spirit and beer brands, as well as guest ales. An elegantly styled 30 cover oak beamed restaurant is where visitors can enjoy the good food on which the inn has built its reputation. A further 30 seats can be made available in the bar, popular during the weekend when the pub can comfortably cater for 60. There is also a spacious function room capable of holding 120 - the ideal venue for receptions, private parties and for local businesses, clubs and associations to meet. During the warmer months, the Bell's 200 ft garden, with its barbeques and roasting spit, caters for up to 40 covers in beautiful, tranquil surroundings.
The Bell Inn is owned and managed by mother and daughter team Gill and Sara Currie, who took the reigns at the pub in early 2005, helped by the Channel 4 programme, Relocation, Relocation.
Tim Harding Sydenham the head chef at The Bell carefully manages the menu, drawing inspiration from his 17 years experience that includes working with Marco Pierre White and at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Tim's experience is truly reflected in the splendid food and enticing choice of dishes that are made available daily.
Sunday serve food 12 to 2 and closed in the evening
